The 6th Edition of Dance On Screen FilmFestival is upcoming - don't miss it!

Dance On Screen FilmFestival is unique in Austria, presenting a selection of fascinating dance film productions from all over the world once a year. It takes place in Graz, UNESCO city of Design, Cultural Capital of Europe 2003 and capital city of Styria annually since 2016.
This year we celebrate 5 years of Dance On Screen (2016/17/18/19/21) with more than 14 hours of dancefilm screenings in Space04 of the Kunsthaus Graz!
In the primetime film blocks we will present the 'Dancefilm Poets', films longer than 25 minutes, and a 'Best of 5 Years Dance On Screen' selection.
The other film blocks are called Dance Film Marathon starting on Saturday and Sunday at 13:00. Here we focus on topics like 'Breakdance and Urban', 'Dance Against Social Injustice', 'Dance meets Architecture' and a 'Retrospective of 5 Years Dance On Screen'.

Dance On Screen FilmFestival, the first and only Austrian Dance Film Festival is coming soon and LIVE to Orpheum Graz from 18.-20.06.2021.

Once a year the festival is presenting a selection of dance film productions from all over the world on the big screen. Focussing on artistic works made through an intimate interaction between movement, camera, sound and editing, we celebrate dance film as genre and art form.

Dance On Screen FilmFestival ist Österreichs erstes und einziges TanzFilmFestival. Am 18.+19.+20. Juni 2021 findet es im Orpheum Graz statt.

50 Tanz-Kurzfilme internationaler Künstler erwarten die Zuschauer beim diesjährigen kleinen Jubiläum, der 5. Edition von Dance On Screen. Spektakuläre sowie intime Drehorte, körperlicher Ausdruck persönlicher und gesellschaftlicher Themen, Millimeterarbeit mit Körpern.

'Dabei tanzen nicht nur die Darsteller*innen in den Filmen, sondern auch die Kamera, die Bilder selbst - die beiden Bewegungskünste Tanz und Film verbinden sich zu einem eigenen, einzigartigen Kunstformat und bringen Tänze hervor, wie sie nur auf der Leinwand existieren können.'

On the 1.+ 2. September 2020 Valentina Moar will present my new dance piece LEBENDIGE FORMEN at the LaStrada Festival in Graz (Austria). Together with Paolo Scoppola (Videoartist), Pierre-Yves Diacon (Dance) and Marco Schretter (Sounddesign) Valentina Moar (Choreography, Dance) will show a multimedial and interactive dance performance inspired by the Styrian Star-Architect and former Bauhaus Student Hubert Hoffmann.

Dance On Screen FilmFestival opens its archive!
Since its first edition the festival has shown 118 films by artists from all over the world.
Now the festival opens up its digital space - the Dance On Screen Archive.
Every Sunday in May, starting on the 3rd May, a pre-release of films will be online and from 31st May the entire archive will be online.
